Edible Babies?

I almost sick for a week, down with common sickness finally get back to office and clear some work. I have recieved an email saying that these babies are made of cake frosting, but who could take a bite?

Thought you'd be as fascinated with these as I. These are made with marzipan....the babies looked so real and unbelievable!


What is Marzipan?
Marzipan, a sweet paste made of ground (blanched) almonds, sugar, and eggs, and used in cake fillings, icings, and other confectionaries, is often colored and molded into all sorts of visually appealing that resemble miniature versions of food (or other objects).





Are these babies adorable? Yes. Edible? No!!!

Truth has come into light...
I went to do reseach about Marzipan babies and realised that it's a hoax. I don't know who send out this but it is incorrect. Anyway, for those who wants to eat Marzipan babies, I think they are quite sick people. They are definitely not the kind of food that most of us would find it palatable.

These baby sculptures are the work of a talented artist Camille Allen, who says she molds them from polymer clay which is cured to a hard, porcelain-like finish. According to the artist's FAQ, the hair is fine-strand English mohair. Each doll measures between 2 and 5 inches from head to toe and sells ranging from USD$99 to USD$3000.

Enlightment

Over the weekend, I have been listening to Dharama talks - Path of Happiness, given by Ajahn Brahmali, eating vegetarian food and going to Guan Ming Shan for "3 steps one bow" ceremony.

It is a good experience to go through a normal Buddhist should have done. Esp its my first time doing "3 steps one bow" ceremony. I thought would be quite difficult to do since it's my first time. However, I do feel a little bit of tiredness and the pain at my knee cap during the process, but I focus on my mind on the beings of the catastrophe in china, my family and myself.

I perceive this "3 steps one bow" ceremony as a life journey. It's an interesting experience. Enjoy the breeze and feel the different texture on the path... Sometimes in life, when we get to touch the rough stones, sometimes finer stones. During the tough times, we still get to enjoy the cool breeze along the way. No matter what we experienced, we should always try to complete what we started off.

Through the buddhist's teaching, there is no right or wrong path, there is only have cause and effect. Whatever we do now, will affect whatever is going to happen in the future. Whatever happens, it happens for a reason. What may seems wrong but could be right at the end of the day. We shouldn't think too much the good and the bad and just experience our life to the fullest and be responsible for our own actions.

I'm not a true Buddhist yet because I'm still standing outside as an observer. It allows me to think and question from Buddhist's teaching and what can I learn from it eventually.

A true Buddhist is one who has confidence that the Buddha's Enlightenment is what it was - spiritual liberation through the complete realisation of the essential nature of self and all phenomena - which ended all personal suffering, thus attaining True Happiness.

Secondly, a true Buddhist makes an important goal to strive towards the same experience by following the path that Buddha has shown. Crucial on the path to Enlightenment is mindfulness - which leads to the understanding of one and all, giving rise to perfect wisdom and compassion.

Injury Department

My department is down with a little bit of down luck. EO still hasn't recovered her neck injury from the car accident and PL injured her arm joints when slipping onto the floor and I just recovered my sprain ankle from the staircase.



Trying to "change" the luck and boost my dept's morale, I bought flowers for them. Yah, I know that flowers can't change luck but they can brighten up one's mood. After being happy, one's luck can be changed hehe... Hope EO and PL will have better luck and feel happier these days hehehehe :0)

Life Travelator

Our legal dept has hired a master degree holder. This lady is in late 30s. According to legal, she wrote two books before. It seems like she has some kind of achievements in her younger days.

However, during first day of work, she has problem using pc and the mouse. She said she hasn't been working for a year. These days it's an essential for any working people able to use Microsoft office application. The manager gave her the benefit of doubt. When Gurmit went for one day MC, she felt so lost and helpless. After 4 days, she quit her job saying that she's not suitable for this job.

"Our life is like we are walking on a travelator which moves backwards, if you don't keep walking, you will start moving backwards" - Quoted by Gurmit

Great analysing... What he says is true. It does not matter how high our education level is as long as we STOP upgrading ourselves, we will be start going BACKWARD and before we know it, we will be moving further and further away from the society and eventually we might be out of job.

That's the reality of working society. Solution is either we buckup or never stepped back into working society.

Office Politics

"Urgh, I just can't stand office politics!"

One of my colleagues requested me to do a preso slide by last friday. I couldn't get it done simply by one guy, Mr KS.

Email him - NEVER response
Call him - NEVER return call
Ask his colleague to inform him - NEVER acknowledge
SMS him - NEVER reply!!!

This morning Mr KS finally reply my sms and wrote this, "Please help to keep my boss in the loop."

My handphone never registered his no and I was wondering who this person is. He told me who he was and I replied, "Can you just send me the photos and cc your boss?"

"No, this project is secret. Please clear with my boss first."

What is so secret about it? Fine! I will just email his boss to ask his permission. His boss just replied a yes immediately.

Without further delay, I wrote him an email back to Mr KS with his boss's approved email, "Can you send me Special Project photos by today?" and of course he never replied again...

Just a simple job, why people must makes it so complicated???
I just can't stand office politics!

"Buey Siong" Fake Generosity

Got my GST package on 30 April 2008 and less than a month which is today, I got my income tax report. It is like giving you $1 and they take back $2.

The most ironic part is this statement

"Thank you for your contribution towards nation building."

Did we say we want to contribute? No but according to our own government law, it is clear stated that it is legal to take our hard earn money away from us... Then stop being so "generous" to the nation when it is our money!

Letting Go...

I have finally let go of my emotions for all my past relationships. I just want to say this:
Don't be afraid to say "I'm Sorry" when you really meant it because It takes a lot more courage to say "I'm Sorry" than saying "I Love You".

No matter how much grudges and unhappiness between us. Let us just buried the anger and hurt into the soil.

4 boyfriends

Once upon a time there was this girl who had four boyfriends.

She loved the 4th boyfriend the most and adored him with rich robes and treated him to the finest of delicacies. She gave him nothing but the best.

She also loved the 3rd boyfriend very much and was always showing him off to neighboring kingdoms. However, she feared that one day he would leave her for another.

She also loved her 2nd boyfriend. He was her confidant and was always kind, considerate and patient with her. Whenever this girl faced a problem, she could confide in him, and he would help her get through the difficult times.

The girls 1st boyfriend was a very loyal partner and had made great contributions in maintaining her wealth and kingdom. However, she did not love the first boyfriend. Although he loved her deeply, she hardly took notice of him!

One day, the girl fell ill and she knew her time was short. She thought of her luxurious life and wondered, "I now have four boyfriends with me, but when I die, I'll be all alone."

His answer cut like a sharp knife right into her heart.

Her heart sank and turned cold.

"I'm sorry, I can't help you out this time!", replied the 2nd boyfriend. 'At the very most, I can only walk with you to your grave."

His answer struck her like a bolt of lightning, and the girl was devastated.

Then a voice called out: "I'll go with you. I'll follow you no matter where you go..."

The girl looked up, and there was his first boyfriend. He was very skinny as he suffered from malnutrition and neglect.

Greatly grieved, the girl said, "I should have taken much better care of you when I had the chance!"

In truth, you have 4 boyfriends in your lives:
Your 4th boyfriend is your body. No matter how much time and effort you lavish in making it look good, it will leave you when you die.

Your 3rd boyfriend is your possessions, status and wealth. When you die, it will all go to others.

Your 2nd boyfriend is your family and friends. No matter how much they have been there for you, the furthest they can stay by you is up to the grave.

This is so meaningful and beautiful... Often, we are busy pursuing our career and spending time with our love ones... But we often had forgotten to ask how well our soul is. Is it well taken care of?

It may sounds crazy but recently I start talking to my soul after attended the yoga class... I have been neglected it for so long... I glad that I did... It is sick now I’m trying to revive it... At least, I know that I still have a soul haha

If you find that you are losing your soul, this is a good story to remind ourselves...

Apply Mascara tips

Few months ago, friends bought me mascara as a birthday gift. Thanks for their nice thought :) Not that I don't want to use... I not used to putting on mascara... and the first attempt wasn't really successful.

Steps to put on mascara:
Step 1 : Curl your eyelashes with curler.
Step 2 : Comb your eyelashes to spread them apart (optional).
Step 3 : Apply Base coat
Step 4 : Apply Black coat

Remember : Avoid using the curler again after apply mascara.

To be honest, I really hated to put on makeup loh... It's a pain to put on so many chemicals on my face! You know one thing is when you put your foundation, you will need to put on concealer, blusher, eye shadow, eye liner, lip stick and the list goes on...

One word : Troublesome!

But due to some reasons like special occasions, friends' weddings and feeling moody. That's the time I will put on make up... if not, i would prefer to be as original as possible haha :p I like my skin to be free from "chemicals" hahaha

A girl friend of mine quoted, "A face without mascara is a nake face." Alright, alright, I shall try to learn how to use mascara today hehe... Hmmm, hopefully the result will be better.

RAFFLES PLACE GHOST MYSTERY SOLVED
After ten days of thorough investigation and the help of the public, we have concluded our investigation. Whilst there is a lack of consistent evidence to accurately prove the existence of a ghost, one key finding across all leads is that strange things do happen at night. Which is why, NO ONE SHOULD WORK LATE EVERY DAY.

AFTER THOUGHTS
When TT has received an email with a video clip titled Raffles Place Ghost and forwarded it to me, its kinda scary and my hair stands loh but it turns out to be marketing gimmick of GMP. Chey! To attract people to visit their new website. I always find their recruitment services sucks. Hopefully, they have improved their service and this LOUD attraction will bring some business to them.

Well, it's great idea with scary thought :p That makes people believe that "IT" really exists... and usually happens at night...

WH send me this photo taken from The Top of the Burj (Tallest building). Look at the edge (uppermost right corner) of the picture; you can almost see the "turn" of the earth..

Nice pic, isn't it? Wonders of photography...with the work of Fish Eye Lens! But makes me pondering... Is the earth really round or flat? Puzzling...

KW recommended me this comedy movie. Click. It tells a message. After watching it, I simply just let my mind run wild. I have been thinking aloud what happens if I really have an universal control that control my universe? To be honest, I always enjoy fast-wards on any movie or drama serials whenever I watch, esp the parts where I felt boring. Because I'm too eager to find out what happens next. Sometimes my parents just get so frustrated watching dvds with me haha :)

If you asked me whether I want to do that to my life? hmmmm, but in the first place, do I really need to click my life away or enjoy the process of my life? I think it's pretty cool and exciting when I get to use this special life control. I will become a control freak and only click to any chapters that I want. Click away all my sadness away. But at the same time, I might be missing out my happiness as well.

It also let me realise that life is not meant to be rushed through for any reason, not for money, promotions or success. We need to value the things that are important in our life such as our family and friends and this means spending quality time with them.

We should stop clicking our life away and start living...

Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve

Today suppose to go with the birthday girl to Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve. She last min had a running fever so she cant go. However, i can't fly two of my friend's kite mah just because of her mah.

I know Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve is a "Wu loo" place. But I never expect it to be "Super Wu Loo"... I suggest to take bus 925 from Kranji MRT to wetland, luckily one of my friends says he wants to drive us there.

We reached there about 9am. It's quite a nice place if you like to be embrace by the nature. Chripping of the birds and insects, interesting mangrove structure, spun off spider webs everywhere, active flying fishes and shy monitor lizards!

Don't know what's wrong with me today. My reaction today is very slow. I was super slow until I was being laughed at. Can you imagine we saw 7 monitor lizards walk past me slowly at 7 different places... and yet I can take any shots of them? My friends says my reaction is even slower than monitor lizard loh... yah yah yah...

I'm quite fortunate to see a young monitor lizard. My friend who is a nature lover asked me to take this because it is not moving at all. He even commented, "People use stones to hit monitor lizard in the past. It won't move lah because it still doesn't know the evilness of this world yet." Thanks leh...

Anyway I'm more interesting in this baby monitor lizard, nice skin tan color :) It's skin texture is gold in color and its texture... something new to me.. Okay, I'm just too mountain tortoise le...

Carpark and walk across the road to the entrance of the trail. It takes an approximate 30-mins walk to the Reserve.

Went to sing KTV with Siew. Requested by her haha... Everyone is telling me how nice is song, even radio has been playing almost hourly! I finally get to hear it. I like the music but I didn't like to lyrics... Lyrics can be improved with more depth and feelings :)
