Heliconias Vs Strelitzia reginae

Few weeks back, Usu told me the the photo i had is "fake" bird of paradise. The one i took is called "Heliconias" and the "real" ones is "Strelitzia reginae". Whether fake or real i think they are equally beautiful, they simply stand out by itself :)

Heliconias are tends to be plain while Strelitzia reginae are more vibrant in their colours.

Heliconia are known for their beautiful, brilliant colorful flowering bracts.

Breathtaking and unusual flowerheads (bracts) rise from clumps of banana like leaves, sometimes very large or slender.

Their height may on some species vary from as small as 2" to 25" depending on variety. Heliconia are actually highly modified leaves and bracts, their colorful bracts may be erect, pendulous or spiraling with bracts in the shapes of bird's beaks, lobster claws or fan shaped.

They are in colors of reds, pinks, golds, oranges and splashes of a mixture of colors. The IRg Reat durability makes them unique for export urpose satisfying the needs of our customers far away from the place of origin.

The Crop is located in the Central Andes among the beautiful coffee crops with volcanic soils and perfect temperatures for their grow."
