We are not alone

A young child is taken into the forest by his father. He is blindfolded and left alone. He is required to sit on a stump the whole night and not remove the blindfold until the rays of the morning sun shine through it. He cannot cry out for help to anyone. Once he survives the night, he is a man.

The boy is naturally terrified. He can hear all kinds of noises. He was thinking that maybe all the Wild beasts are around him or maybe some human might do him harm.

The wind blew through the grass, the earth shook his stump but he sat nonchalantly and never attempted to remove his blindfold. It would be the only way he could become a man!

Finally, after a horrifying night, the sun appeared and he removed his blindfold. It was then he discovered his father was sitting on the stump next to him.

The father had been watching and protecting his son from harm throughout the entire night.

Few weeks back, I saw the news that a mother after divorced with her spouse, tried to commit suicide with her son. Unfortunately, her son didn't survive. I felt sad after hearing it. Dying is not even a solution. She will leave her life with regrets, a huge regret that she will never able to forgive herself.

When we faced life challenges / problem, we must always remind oursleves that we are never alone and there is always an alternative.
