Decisions... Decisions...

For the past 2 days, i had been suffered from bad headaches. Why? Cause I have attended Decision-Making course sent by my company. The friendly course consultant makes the whole course itself, fun and interesting.

Supposed to be a 3 day course, the organisation wanted to cut cost so they removed "creative thinking" element from the full course. We were quite pissed off... Anyway, we need to give feedback about this course. I'm going to highlight this point to my boss on why do HR has to removed the "creative thinking" element from the course. Do they mean that small fry like us, don't need to be creative???

The course is all about using various types of Decision-Making techniques to tackle the problems. We did 8 different kind of case studies, brainstorming, organising and evaluating our work. It is quite generic kinda techniques that we can apply in our work or even in our daily lives.

During the break, I spoke to the consultant. It is all depends on individual. Not all people will find this course useful. Because this course is to train logic/analytical people. Creative people will not find it very useful.

An interesting fact that he shared with us was, most creative people are mostly those top management people. They do not like to think in logic, simply because they have vision ahead of others. Decision making techniques will only slow down their thinking process.

And the end of the lesson, we took a short test. This is just to test us how well we are good at the techniques. In the end, i got 6/10. It's a good news to me 'cause afterall, I'm not an analytical person and i hate figures :)
