National Museum

Have been writting non-stop for the past two weeks, decided give my mind a rest. Now is the photos sharing seasons :)

Went to National Museum with my buddy two weeks ago. We were suppose to go and see "Families and Friends" Exhibition. In the end, I'm more excited with the "Paper Cutting" exhibition more than the "Families and Friends" exhibiton.

The theme is "Bountiful Blessings - Ushering the Lunar year of the Pig".

Papercuts are traditionally used for decorating the home for the chinese new year celebration. They come in a wide range of designs and bear symbolic meanings of well wishes for the family. Papercuts are mostly made from red paper, as the Chinese consider red as an auspicious color.

Detailed Papercut is never an easy job to do. You need to have strong visual and creative mind and a pair of very skillful hands. Really hope that this skill will not be lost over the years.
